Left-handed lawyers – doubly damned?

In Old English, lyft meant weak and useless; in German, links means clumsy and awkward; in French, gauche means ugly or uncouth(Max Morenberg and Jeff Sommers, The Writer’s Options: Lessons in Style and Arrangement (Longman, 2003, 7th Ed.) at 24); in Latin, sinestra – the root of sinister, means left. Forget all the intelligence tests, the emotional acumen, the EFTJ style – what hand does the lawyer write with? Worse, right brain thinking is rational, left brain – who knows, if you made it through Civ Pro and the Rule against Perpetual Absurdities?
